When I first came to Pennsylvania I was driving around to visit different clients, and I wasn't exactly familiar with the territory. This was 1998, so well before everyone had Waze on their phones.

I actually looked at a map the first week I was here and figured out that if I found my way to Philadelphia, there was one very long road called Route 611 that went north to south, and if I got onto it I could eventually get to the town where I was staying at the time. If I found another very long road called Route 1, that went west to east and it would intersect with Route 611.

If I got to Delaware, I knew I'd gone the wrong way. Same as if I got to New Jersey. And I figured that I'd work out I'd made a mistake well before I ever got to Ohio or New York.

It sounds silly, but I actually always did manage to make it back to my apartment every night using these rules.

 

To be completely fair he only dealt weed, he just smoked meth.
