    @Tracy Wethington Did you have much experience with comb pecking? We have a really mean hen that is getting food aggressive. We're spreading their food out and giving them two dishes now because of it. All the other chickens also peck back but it's Big O being really rude to one specific member of ABBA.

    I'm not sure how many you have or the size of the chicken area but our aggressive hen stopped when we added a bit more room. If possible you can add some verticle space (an old ladder works great) and continue to try spreading the food/water out. I've also seen them do this out of boredom. One of the things I'll do to help with boredom is tossing leaves into the chicken area. If I run out of leaves/things to toss in I'll actually just walk inside of the pen and rake the leaves/anything I can, into a big pile in the center. They will scratch at it for hours.

    Once we added a small run through our hen stopped being quite as bossy. Every so often another hen will do something that is apparently betraying the chicken code of conduit and she will get a bit aggressive but it's not nearly as bad.

    We have 8 chickens in about .25 of an acre fenced in area. It only happens when they are clumped up while eating. So we're ganna just try and spread the food out farther and farther hoping that will help. I will take that leaves thing though to keep them entertained! Could it be the age right now? They are just hitting 11-12 weeks old now. Big O was the biggest for a long time and now all the other chickens have caught up in size.
