mosquitoes are too though. I was born in SEMO and still have family down there. They may be closer to the river than you are though. How far to the nearest boomland from you? :emoji_joy:

No, you're right. There's a reason it's used as cat litter and for oil spills. It's porous and absorbs everything. When I worked at a grocery store in HS, in summer, we had to take the cat litter bags out back and drop them off the loading dock to get them broken up enough to stack on the shelves. Even expensive ones like Tidy Cat and those hypo-allergenic non-scented $20 in 1999 dollars/5lb bags of gourmet cat litter.

Ah. I Googled. I'm half-way between Bonne Terre and Potosi. The middle of BFE. About 30 minutes from Farmington, and 60 convoluted twisty miles from STL.

oh my sweet summer child. Boomland is a magical place/gas station/store. They claim to have the worlds largest fireworks store (which I believe cause it’s ‘merica big) and allows people to smoke inside while they play video poker, as the elderly locals are wont to do. Boomland has subsequently burned down not once but twice :emoji_joy::emoji_joy:

I moved here in Dec. from KS and had a month of hurrying up to try to catch up on stuff my dad hadn't had time to do after he bought the place that needed done 10 months before he bought the place. Then something went wrong in the drivetrain of his Jeep and while troubleshooting we broke a whole bunch of stuff and found a bunch more stuff that was wrong.

What should've been a simple transfer case rebuild turned into transfer case/rear-end rebuild, leaf springs replaced, then while underneath it a "Huh...so THAT's why the trailer wiring harness doesn't work" re-wiring of the taillights, then finding a hole in the cargo space floorboard that was easier to patch while the rear-end was out, etc, etc, etc, ad infinitum.

Then COVID hit and I haven't had any time to go out and explore anywhere.

I go to boomland every time I am down there to buy a half dozen bottles of this which was previously only found in southeast Missouri and they apparently now sell on amazon
