I'd go a step further, get the tester before you do anything besides figure out what breaker you need. It never hurts to double check that the power has in fact been killed.

 

@ChrisTurk also if it is the circuit breaker for the hot water heater it is likely a double pole single throw, you need to match up the amperage of the breaker as well as the manufacturer for the panel. (Circuit breakers from different manufacturers are rarely interchangeable.) Might want to have that on hand before the 2AM attempt unless you have a brick and a local Home Depot/Lowes.

Also pickup a few spare 20 amp or 15 amp single poles for when this happens at 2AM during something like you know a pandemic so you can avoid the germbags.
