A sink/tub is a lot like a litter box to some cats and it makes sense! Bearnie isn't a sink pee guy, but on occasion, if the boxes are full, he pees in the tub we don't use most of the time I'm always honestly impressed that he does the math to not pee in the shower I use every day, but what he probably sees as the backup backup backup litter box.

 

I swore if I got another cat I'd teach it to use the toliet

 

I've had chickens and roosters but they weren't like my cats. My cats were the typical cats, run and play, attack feet, sleep on you sort but my chickens kind of just hung out on the back porch railing. I could pick them up and pet them and stuff but they didn't really seem to care about anything but food. I had two huge white roosters that never fought surprisingly and I always picked them up and toted them around. Had to give the birds away when I moved to an aunt who lived in the country. I've had rabbits too. Dumb animals. Pigeons. Now they had personalities. One was mean as hell and the other made the purring sound when I petted him. Gerbils were stupid and only looked for food. Rats were affectionate and liked to be held. Cockatiels were dumb and noisy. Oh and I had a ferret that was like the typical ferret, super active and liked to run around all day. Still prefer cats and maybe a quiet dog.

I miss my cat. We're not allowed to have "big" pets in this place. My husband gave my cat to his mom. Our landlord lives two hours away. We could easily get away with having a cat in here; we haven't seen the guy once since we moved in. I'm thinking about getting a rat or two, anyone have experience with rats?

This one I have that does it, was a stray a woman that catches feral cats to neuter caught, we took him in and he was an adult. He's friendly good cat, just pees in the sink every single time, you can sit him in the litter box and he goes right back to the sink.

 

LOL. And yet my pick fu score went way down... like damn near to goblin town.

I had two for a short period of time and they were pretty low maintenance. They stink, well, the shavings stink so you might not be able to tolerate the smell. Mine liked to be held and were pretty docile. They're very inquisitive and will get into everything if you let them run loose. Mine never chewed on anything though but gerbils and rabbits will!

i've heard rats are very intelligent but you should get more than one so they aren't lonely... problem with most rodents is that they're so short lived

 

Apparently fancy rats are very cancer prone, which shortens the general lifespan.

 

I just noticed mine was as well. Never got a response to my email though.
