The only mmorpg I've ever played was Kingdom of Loathing...

 

FF14 has a permanent free trial that lets you play until level 35, with restrictions but it would give you a decent feel for the game and if you would enjoy it.

 

Yeah housing demolition is off right now due to covid. I'm so lucky I got my mansion. I was online at like 2-3 am and someone was like BRUH MANSION OPEN. I ported out there and dropped fucking 50mil on it. I regretted it INSTANTLY and now I love it so much. I made all the gil back and just chill in my fancy house lmfao
