WHOA!

 

I could not get the search function to work for quite a while after the original update, until I uninstalled and reinstalled MTS in Chrome. That fixed it in my case. The reinstall also drastically sped up the database syncing as my laptop completely bogged down every time MTS would try to update the database. It also fixed some of the little quirky problems too. If you haven't done a reinstall since the update, it might be something to look into. It may not help in your individual circumstances, but it's worth a look. If you do a reinstall, dont' forget to backup blocks/favs lists, etc.

I love when something doesn’t work in the exact way I was hoping it wouldn’t work!

 

Memory immediately doubled and CPU more than tripled

 

I meant it! It’s still broken but at least I know more about why

 

@ChrisTurk I played around with it a little more and found that if I use the "contains" search with any date between 01/08/2021 and 01/11/202 it doesn't work. As long as the search doesn't include one of those four days, it works perfectly, lol.

 

See, there's the issue. It's not wanting you to find the ancient batches

How many HITs did you do on those dates? Probs hitup a batch and so when it loads them all to do the scan (bit of a whoopsies, should just let the db do the work but fixable) it's probably just eating ram/cpu

 

Probs has nothing to do with the dates themselves & is the result of there being a lot of HITs done on those days (which crashes the bg when loaded lol)

..but uh, don't quote me on this because I'm bravely posting it before he says "nah fam didn't even work those days get rekt your idea is dumb"

 

Thank you for the help and for acknowledging my message! I will give that a try and see if it helps. I have just had nothing but frustration with the latest update. Hopefully reinstalling fixes the issue.

 

Reinstalling wont do anything unless you let it nuke your work history. The issue is db size & memory constraints not any particular quirk w/ upgrading (well, most likely).
