    Apologies on behalf of all IT departments who have to do this and might make people feel kind of weird as a result. It's even weirder when an IT person with lots of access puts in their notice - the response is usually "ok, we need to disable all your accounts effective right now and you can just get paid for the two weeks notice you gave". Which yeah, it's nice to sit and get paid to do nothing, but it can feel depersonalizing and odd sometimes too. Glad you aren't seeing that end of it. :)
