Hey all, I just wanted to share a great experience I had with a requester who rejected me (START lab under the name Valentina Nikulina). They said it was a failed "validity test" so I started up a discussion about which one I missed. Turns out I had completed the survey a YEAR ago, so my MTurk ID was on file with them, but they hadn't set up any exclusions.

After some back and forth where I explained (and showed screenshots) of how workers can't see past 8 weeks previous, as well as the issues with not setting any exclusions or qualifications, they decided to overturn my rejection. Normally I wouldn't fight it, but it was a $5 HIT so I was more persistent. Just another example that sometimes they just have no clue of what it's like on our end as workers, and workers sometimes have no idea that they have no clue about qualifications/etc. Really warmed my cold little heart to know that perhaps this communication will make the platform more understandable for them. Plus...I got my money. So, fight rejections if you've got the energy and time! It's worth it!
