06/09 - What a Wonderful Wednesday

Is anybody else having problems with the MldataLabeler "Draw a Tight Box Around The Face" submitting today. I haven't been on for a while so I'm wondering if it's a script problem. Always get a "We Can't Find That Page" error and the HIT doesn't submit.

 

The issue with this is that from a high level (not discussing individuals) it's a completely perfect analysis from a purely social aspect.

But anything revolving around account restrictions here is also financial which is an insane punishment for people who are just dicks (again, not touching on your personal evals because all that's personal). There's no clean split, even the "shadowban" thing takes away some fin-related resources (mostly the community aspect, which might be fair if you're a dick people don't want to help you) but it's still not a clean break from all the scripts/tools/etc that run off this place. Plus it sort of relies on the person not being a dick and circumventing it, which dick people who earn the tag have historically not done with a high rate of success so it's usually just a stepping stone to having to fully explode the account and potentially blowing up some aspect of their actual life.

tl;dr: i'm a grinch

The entire thread was an anxiety inducing "is this politics or food?" discussion all day

If I had 1/10th the bandwidth required to navigate that social minefield I wouldn't work online secluded away from society lmao

I have an insatiable thirst for discussing politics/how the world works with anyone and everyone who will get involved. I'll do my best to refrain from that here. I don't want to alienate anyone and I don't want to detract from everyone else's ability to benefit from this thread.

 

I think if someone is out of line they get a 2x chippy for 3 days. That’ll have them watching their arses

^ This is a great way to look at it. Since most people have this thread open while doing MTurk / other work, it's always better to post things that lift people's moods up, not make a portion of them uncomfortable.

 

These kind of things always end the same way: secret ass B who hates person X baits person X into eating the punishment and I get super insanely annoyed but can't do anything about it.
