Charlie, the cat in my avatar and username, had some kind of "compromising incident" - stroke, seizure, heart attack, no idea - while I was away from the house one day last week. He isn't recovering well, a lot of his personality is now gone, and he's not eating like he used to.

He's 18 years old and his health has declined a lot this year. His last vet visit was cut short because they said it was better not to stress him a lot with shots, teeth cleaning, etc like they normally did. The big fear was that he wouldn't wake up from the sedation used for cleaning his teeth. The vet said he had heart disease and maybe 6-18 months to live - well, month 18 passed back in August, so to say he's on borrowed time is an understatement. So I guess with this thing he just went through, I'm preparing for the inevitable here and very sad. He's been with me through a lot of shit so I feel like I'm losing a friend.
