Also asks questions about your "metro area" but never screens for it, so I have a metro area... that I live 90 minutes from. Do I do the survey?

as someone who was out of the MTurk loop for a couple of years, its interesting that on one hand its nice to see the market here kind of correct itself, especially as someone who tried to only work for fair wages for years and communicated with requesters etc., but extremely disheartening to see how slow progress is in some "real world" sectors during the same timeframe (as a retail worker, for just one example). Smarter people than me can probably draw some more concrete conclusions from this.

 

Well, i've been doing this for about a week now. Used all the information from every veteran turker I got, scripts, looking for the right HITs, etc.
So far it's been awful, making less than a 1/hr on average, with some rare instanes of being able to find HITs that pay more than .50 cents or even .50 cents. It's starting to be that I'm lucky if I can find a HIT that I can do at all (aside from transcribing recipts for .05 cents per 30 minutes of work). I find it hard to imagine how people can do this long-term. Is there any other newer people here who are having more success than me? Or are you finding that every good HIT must be being taken by people with better scripts as well?

How many approved HITs do you have?
Did you do a StudyLab hit yet?
Are you in USA?

 

I caught a few $15 HITs, already did them previously, tossing them back at 40 after, if you want to get PANDAs ready.

Once you have a good pool of HITs done, and I'm talking like 10,000, things seem to open up I think. A lot of requesters use that + at >95% approval rate as baselines. Starting out is going to be rough. I started out back in 2013 so what was available for me to boost numbers isn't out there anymore. The only one I can think of is Pickfu. They might not be bad to get a few guaranteed HITs a day at a mediocre pay. They have an NDA hit that floats around I think? It's a qual hit that pays abysmally.

Make sure you do the Amazon demographic HITs. A lot of requesters use those to get quals.
