I honestly would argue that. I would say that the timer was set up for 3 days, and you adequately completed it within the time frame with the expectation of payment. If they wanted it completed earlier, they should have set a shorter timer.

It's not going to go over well, but it might prevent them from pulling the same bullshit on a future study.
