    My thought is the same as YarnAndCats. A while ago I had to reinstall QBC and they exact same thing happened to me. No matter what I did it just wouldn't connect. Loooooong story short, it turned out there was a 2FA captcha thingy in a really small, completely separate tab that was holding everything up. Totally might not be the problem your experiencing, but reading it rang a loud bell for me.
