03/01 - Marching Forward Friday

I remember when humans ran things at MTurk, and they cared about the workers.

 

How do you think I feel having this stolen from me for eight months? lol
I am glad it led me to learn new skills and now I have a second income, at least.

 

We all went nuts hearing you got your account back, and your money was still there!!!

 

So you finally got it!
I'd be harassing the shit outta them, black magick, the works.

 

My work group went nuts, too. I went out and got a steak dinner to celebrate and also booked two nights at a cabin in the woods in June for me and my friends.

 

That is so awesome! We are going to need pictures!

 

Trying to track this down...
I'm looking at a 1¢ qualification screener with a $120 bonus.... by all means, suspend the workers who want this hit.

 

The frustrating part of this is that Amazon still gets a cut of bonus payouts. They didn't lose money, they did not communicate with the requester that they had issue with their structure, they just banned everyone, including the requester. Just like workers, when the requester reached out, they got no reply. Turkopticon pulled every resource they have out of their hats to get answers (which they did not get, just account reinstatements) and put pressure on Amazon. They even spoke with a senator who asked Amazon for answers. The whole saga is on social media - both linkedin and twitter (X-whatever) if you want to see. Amazon is just so frustrating.

I'm not trying to be disingenuous by not naming the requester, if workers are looking to avoid this, avoid small pay, large bonus jobs, but this requester was a victim too, and worked diligently with Turkopticon these past two weeks to fix things. They could not, for privacy reasons, hand TO the list of workers, so they contacted everyone who worked for them, letting them know TO was working on it and fighting for the workers.

 

yeah the requester emailed me too and when I emailed back they got back to me a couple more times. TO was amazing we'd all still be banned and confused without them. I almost had to cancel surgery later this month because of this and TO helped me with that too.

 

PS I broke my wrist so I will type badly for a month because my arm has a cast now
