I want the money in my bank so I can use my banks bill pay and feel like I "have" it more. I trust my bank more than PayPal. I already have a debit card with my bank, I don't want another one.

 

it took at least 2 weeks, not more than 4 weeks, for my paypal card to arrive in the mail. so there is a wait if you want one in the future. but you can use it right away in circumstances where you don't need the physical card, like if you don't need to "swipe" it.

Amen to that. I was using PayPal, then I switched to Venmo, it's much more like a bank account than PayPal.

 

they're the same company and I have debit cards for both. I mainly use paypal for Prolific, Connect and certain friends/things. I transfer money to my actual bank super rarely, only when I need cash and want a free atm.

 

Yes, they are both owned by PayPal, however the way they work is different. I had all kinds of issues with PayPal, especially if I have a bill coming to PayPal and there isn't enough funds, PayPal would try every card and bank I had connected to the account until it found money. I got so screwed by that several times. Venmo doesn't do that. You can also take a picture of a check and cash it. which is why I got it in the first place.
