03/24 - What you humans call Monday

As far as I know I have only been scammed once, when the guy claimed the item was undeliverable because he had given us the wrong address, and he claimed the post office was returning it to me. I never got it of course and I had to refund. But generally the worst thing I deal with is people sending me low-ball offers, usually in the middle of the night. Ebay pretty much makes you accept offers because it makes your listings show up higher in the results, and they will set it to "accept offers" even if you turn that off. Also, I never do auctions.

I recently learned because I went to an accountant that my eBay activities are "other income" for tax purposes, but surveys are self-employment. And the accountant told me I should have been saving receipts for everything I bought to sell. I couldn't seem to convince him that I have been collecting movies and games for over 30 years and I'm selling stuff that's already in my house. But anyway, if you buy stuff to flip, keep your receipts because you can write them off.

Oh, and I have just learned by doing, not using any guides. There's probably better ways to do it, but it brings in money in a pinch pretty regularly.
