me trying to figure out my taxes

 

has anyone else noticed the 5+ emails you get every time you cash out on prolific and connect? what do we need to keep of those? or can we delete all those emails and just go by wherever we sent the money to? like paypal, bank account, or amazon gift card. can we just have spreadsheets with running totals from those sites or do we need screenshots too? or like if it then goes from paypal to bank account, can we just only keep our bank account records and paypal records? all I have from the site that must not be named is a spreadsheet that shows they used to send money to my paypal account.

I do NOT want to keep all of these flurries of emails from mturk, prolific, and connect. unless I have to.

With Gmail or other mail services you can create "filters" to handle emails from specified senders with specified subject text or message text, and set the filter to put them into a specified folder, or to delete them. (Be very careful if creating deletion filters. Mistakes in setup can cause problems. If your email account's storage isn't severely limited, so there's no need to delete, you can set the filters to put those emails into a folder.)

There I turned off the payout request emails, but kept the payout processed emails.

I probably did similarly on Prolific (can't check it at this moment).

For PayPal, I don't necessarily need to keep PayPal's emails about payments. I trust the searchable and downloadable transaction histories available from PayPal.
