It's a multitude of issues in this case, assuming you're on mTurk.
Most people moved to Prolific because Prolific is just more reliable in terms of participants and controls. With mTurk, it's a whole bunch of nonsense.

They aren't losing funding for research, they've already lost it. Many colleges just don't have the funds anymore, at least in the U.S.

 

Does the latest forecasting/probability thing on Connect want you to provide reasoning for your answers like the others? I told myself I would not be doing anymore because they take too long and I have no idea what the parameters are on the bonus awards. If I can just just do what I think is enough research and put in answers without having to write out my reasoning and research process then it would be more worth it.

 

I get these sometimes, and I haven't accepted any because not sure if worth it. thanks for this review. I think @malysa and @Jane Doe are good at these, but I might be confusing them with other hits.

plus, I worked on a forecasting hit with supposedly variable pay for five hours two weeks ago. I was paid about $17.00 a couple days ago. and it looks like some or all of my predictions will be pretty accurate, because I researched. I feel like I'm pretty underpaid for being sort of good at forecasting type of hits. these people are probably making a lot of money off of these.

 

I'm not on Connect, but I remember them from SurveyComet, the same account belonging to CloudReseach that gives out CR#2. Several months after I did my last hit for them, I got a CR#2. I do remember them being too long for the pay.

 

IT is kind of weird that you can receive surveys from other sites such as Connect, via Mturk.

 

oh yeah I forgot about that. I think I have been getting this type of hits more on prolific than on connect. but I'm not sure because I dismiss the ones that look a lot alike, not sure if they are in my prolific or connect browser tab.
