What is the name of the requester on Prolific?

 

I did one of them on Connect and now tend to avoid. Seems as if they have different ppl running their tasks and it's been more headache than not..as well as the sharp pay drop and increased work. Lol the dangling of the raffle earnings carrot is a bit over the top.

 

They are not "different people". They have quite a few sock puppet accounts they use for various purposes, usually to categorize participants. It's a bit odd since they are not an academic institution, but a for-profit business.

 

By "running" I meant the backend where the task is actually completed. Am basing this off of the msg I received blaming the "survey provider" for the issues experienced during one of their recent rounds. Definitely seems to be run different from the past regardless.

 

When they were on MTurk, it was a SurveyComet account that belongs to CloudResearch. Prime Research Solutions LLC, aka Turkprime aka CloudResearch aka Connect runs multiple accounts on several platforms.

 

@mypaperheart the requester to those "Spam Email" HITs replied and explained that the low approval rate was due to scammers and confirmed that we are able to do all 5 in that batch as long as the emails are unique(said they would be approved as long as instructions are followed).

I'm just too disagreeable, neurotic, and anal to do these IC AI things. Really bums me out they don't respond to messages and I don't feel I have the confidence/leeway to risk it.

 

It seemed like part of the batch broke for me after the 2nd one was uploaded. Half were giving me the error:
"There are no assignments in this study that match to your qualifications or device/connection. You may try other HITs from us. We thank you for your participation."
Yet the other half of the batch worked fine. They sent me a msg(from requester account) a few hours ago encouraging me to do the batch lol had to reply back to that mail. Not really sure what they're on but seems they are a bit desperate to get that data in yet don't reply to mails
