I don't know how it is possible that nearly every economics game study manages to butcher communication. It is like they have no theory of mind that would include not being the creator of the experiment who knows how it works. Comprehension questions that do not evaluate the comprehension of the games rules, no complete examples of the game completed according to their rules, and pretty clear malincentives at play for participating fully because of this.
