09/29 - Turkapocalypse Tuesday

If you're waiting for MTurk to get the time right, you'll be here awhile. Like another 21 years. I was there for more than 15........why, why, why?????? Oh, right. Fell into the PIT.

 

Well their days usually end at 3 am EST/DST, so the lights could still go off in under an hour, depends on if anyone is on the late night skeleton shift over there in the IT department.

 

They have an IT department? NOW you tell me.

 

They do say that the last day to approve/reject hits and award bonuses is oct the 30th, and given a max approval time of 30 days, I think that the worker side will continue to run for another day.

 

Yeah I mean that makes the most sense and I would expect it to be perfectly fine until 3AM Oct 1st.. usually if you say something is ending on a date you leave the date itself as the grace window that way no one goes "WELL ACKSHUALLY" .. otoh, "its MTurk" is an excellent counter-argument to that point so

 

Ya, know, according to past history, They might not actually know.

 

Well, regardless of what happens, I'm just enjoying vibing here.

 

I think parts of mturk will break gradually throughout the day on sept. 30. because that seems the most mturk-like to me.

 

im here just in case we get to see it blow up.

 

I have the popcorn ready.

 

They might just forget to turn it off. That's happened occasionally. Some body may have to tell 'em how.

 

i'm still holding out hope for that. because like they don't even know it exists :3

 

uhhh no popcorn here. but i got some cheap pre-mixed margarita. i'll pour one out for Mturk :3c

 

They just have the one guy behind the scenes. He gets overwhelmed and confused at times.

 

I am gonna miss MTurk, 'cause it was always there, up and running(maybe), work to do. Immense variety. No body else is like that. They go home at nite. What's THAT about?
