Gliders are the bomb diggity! Eerily quiet up there! The airport has one and a giant winch to get it going when they aren't using a tow plane.

5 1/2 years and have yet to see any sign of this myth of southern hospitality. The self-serving, self-important, self-righteous, racist (blacks and whites), holier-than-thou "Christians" though... seen them in the bunches

Yeah that was the thing that was cool. We chilled up in the air with only the sound of the wind (no loud engine ect). The pilot gave us a quick lesson and then we flew or rather glided around for awhile. I'm sure you know the setup with the co pilot having yokes as well just in case we did anything stupid he would keep us stable.

I see you got the pamphlet on the way in. I don't think I've ever heard anybody say anything good about Shreveport ever in my life. Makes me kind of glad I've ever only drove through there

Soon as we get enough money together to move back to Vegas we're out. Moving down here was the biggest mistake ever. One more bit of proof why you do not make big decisions after a loss (long story)

Shreveport is a hell hole. May as well be a Dallas suburb. Any southern hospitality was kept out by a force field around that whole area. Ugh. I grew up along the gulf (near Houma) and I stay as far away from Shreveport as possible. People are assholes, the place is dirty... just.. ugh. Yeah, I know, tell you how I really feel. Blech. Southern La is picking up with offshore and shipbuilding jobs (and all the support people for such an employment buildup) if you're inclined that direction. Money can be really good, especially spring-fall.
