I got iced out on pins earlier on the first pin, where 100% of the pins didn't load.

Does the email state any particular reason why they are closing your account?

 

Dude, us too. We are still packing the truck up like assholes. I mean, we only have to drive 2200 miles, no biggie right?

 

"We have closed your Amazon account. We took this action because you have not provided the information we requested to complete our review of your account."

which is incorrect.. I did provide the information.. it was a battle and a half because I got married and my last name changed!

 

Hey Rose, that really sucks and I'm very sorry to hear that.

@mnguy1970 recently got his account suepended and reinstated. Perhaps he could be of some help.

 

I called Amazon immediately - The guy I spoke to said they is absolutely no way to appeal this decision. End of. Even after explaining that when I went through the account verification shit they finally said, OK we get it.. and left me alone.

 

suspended or closed though? UGH I kinda depend on this money. Which I know you all get.. but I am just totally freaking out right now.

 

Keep contacting via the contact form until you get something back that isn't just a form letter. This might take 3-5 tries.

The good news is that these suspensions are more often reviewed than the ever-generic "violation of the participation agreement" suspensions, and who knows, maybe you'll get into contact with a Mechanical Turk employee that actually gives half a shit (trust me, there aren't many).

No one at Amazon knows anything about Mechanical Turk... no matter who you talk to, you're going to be redirected to the "contact us" form. There's no number, no supervisors, no direct email. It's frustrating for sure.

Suspended = terminated = closed in the eyes of mTurk.

I'm not sure. This sounds like a fuck up on their end. I have faith you'll get your account back. If it's something as simple as a last name change due to marriage - I think just keep calling until you get someone.

However, I've thankfully never had to go through this - but from what I hear it can be a huge pain in the ass. I'd say just keep calling. Make a ruckus. Perhaps ask where you can fax some documentation. Do whatever it takes.

At least it's not a "suspicious activity" or "scamming requester" thing - and because of that, I'm hopeful you'll get it back and running eventually.

 

I would look into it for sure. Sorry they closed your account. This is why I am afraid to do too much with mturk and now transfer my money EVERYDAY ..if you get it back I would recommend that (unless you do that already).

For what it's worth, it took me 8 months from the time I submitted my mturk application, which resulted in a rejection, before out of the blue I got an email that said everything was kosher.

So, there is hope that weird decisions can be reversed, eventually.

 

The process of contacting Amazon about mturk is going to be via email or a written form of communication, I have never heard of anyone getting any resolution via a phone call. As others have stated I would start by contacting them through the contact us form. I would also fax a message to the verification number checking the status of account name change/verification by referencing reply to your email. In this case it's going to be more of a "the squeaky wheel gets the grease," so email at least once if not twice a day and fax the shit out of the verification number and someone will pop their head up and reach out, hopefully, just my two cents.

 

I ask a lot of this community and I love you all dearly for it. Thank you ALL for replying and calming me down this evening. Would you, or anyone else have links for the contact us, or email address from communications. I am going to use what I have, but I want to blanket them with this. If it was justified I might not be so pissed. But I did what they asked and was even given the all clear. 3 months later this comes up?

The fax number should be in your initial email from them asking for verification of your identity.
