Just to test generic scripts I've been writing, I've been doing so many random HITs that I've just grabbed from the mTurk search.

I have something like 3,000 HITs pending from requesters with a TO of 1.5 or less.

How did you get into script writing? Like any tutorials you found useful or anything?

I had a fairly extensive background in game programming from around 2002-2007 in C, C++, C#, and Java (and have dabbled in little one-off projects in Arduino, AHK, Lua, and proprietary scripts since then). The six figures I was earning last year doing basically nothing made pretty solid use of WebDominator and its proprietary Minion scripting language, until IL decided I was making too much money and shut down their program.

This is the course that I used to get into web development.
It does a great job of starting out with the basics so that you don't need much prior background, IMO:

I can't stand the dude's personality or voice (too gentle for me), but I think he's a great teacher.
He talked a bit too slow for me in most of the parts, so I watched most of the videos at 1.5x.

I'm also putting together an mTurk-oriented one that I'm hoping will be just as well-produced as that one.

We just approved the hit you submitted so that is does not damage your statistics since we cannot republish the hit this way.

 

so total is like 800 ish?

 

Since the 13th I've done 804 gen categories.

I think it's the second qual... someone else said it's a series, so I probably never did any of the others!

You would think though that with 28,000 HIT's approved, I would be able to offer some input!!

 

Heads up, I did this back in august I need to send it back. Since the room doesn't open up for another 16 minutes, I'll hang onto it for 10 before I send it back. So it'll go back at 10:43 am EST
