I actually do watch the show, so I know much more about it than I really want to haha.

Maybe if you put down the coding for 2 seconds and "beat around the bush" a little more, you'd not have to listen to her ramble about gossip.

 

I'm similar haha. My husband comes home and wants to talk talk talk all about his day at work, and I literally don't understand a single thing he's talking about. But I like listening to him talk... so I let him sit and talk and I try to keep up and get a decent understanding of what he's trying to explain. I'd take listening to him talk about something I know nothing about (or care about) than him not talking to me at all.

GF is also the first beta tester for all my scripts.

She hates every single new script I write for approximately a week.

Then, once I decide to share it with other people, I get to hear about how apparently amazing the script actually is and how I shouldn't just share something I spent so much time on with my competitors for free. I get to hear a whole guilt trip of the PE she earned while I was writing code and how much it cost me to write the script, and whether I'll recoup that by sharing it with other people. So she's probably the main reason I charge for several scripts.

 

It's also nice to be able to just blow off steam with someone listening. I don't care about who's being an HR nightmare for the gf, but I know that I'm really the only person she can talk to about it, so I listen...then I offer to beat them up.

The stat is often spouted to sway people away from the idea of marriage, so they're usually referring to the likelihood of a new marriage succeeding. That's why I think thought it was relevant to point out that, while it is a complicated thing to calculate, the majority (meaning more than 50%) of people who get married nowadays, stay married. We are not disagreeing, just wanted to clarify.

 

I would NEVER murder someone in his sleep.
