We had to catch him in a live trap because he kept wandering back to the porch, but was too skittish to be around any people, even me. Which made me cry hysterically when he made eye contact with me and ran away. Matt was convinced Bearnie would be feral and mean now, but he was as sweet as ever, if not beat up from the outside world. He's seen some shit now. I mean, we went into every hidey hole looking for that cat, and encountered: coyotes, armadillos, snakes, very angry strays, and rednecks with guns who swore they would shoot my cat if he got on their property. The dog next door even broke his chain and mauled something, and we were worried the neighbors wouldn't have told us if it was Bearnie he grabbed.

It was a big deal on the forum and the town I lived in at the time, we were all very very worried when Bearnie went missing! Matt was in the doghouse for so long, he bought me a new fridge to make up for losing Bearnie in the first place. We actually put off moving to Cali by 2 weeks because we didn't have Bearnie back yet, and there was a slim to 0 chance I would have left Georgia without finding my boy and taking him back home.

Nope nope nope. That whole experience was awful. I think I had an actual breakdown in those 11 days- cause the stress of moving 2200 miles, having a lease fall through, AND my sickly ass asthmatic cat lost outside was too much for a Bird to deal with lol.
