For me, personally, I'm more a fan of just putting important stuff into its own window.

Throttling saves CPU cycles for whatever is focused, so it's a great way to make sure that CIs are as zippy as possible on my netbook ("it taketh away, but with the other hand, it also giveth").

If putting in its own window would get in the way, I move it to another virtual desktop.

 

Finally a good recommendation from a requester.

Between XenForo and Facebook, I'm not sure whether I'd have any spare CPU for the foreground tab at all if I disabled background timer throttling on this uncooled 10W m5 processor. Lol.

 

The new episode was overwhelmingly meh and had some heavily staged moments. Nev and Max can sell anything though.
