I can sort of relate. My husband is in the Air guard and is gone at least 2 weeks every year. This year he will gone a month and 2 weeks at least. Almost every year he has to leave a day before my birthday ..

 

Oooh, also I think @Coraniaid might've been right, I think the noise might be a phone backup thingie. I looked around and I have these little boxes with phone jacks on them and various cords running to them. Now I just need to find a speaker in one to rip it out and make it stop.

When it gets stuck, can you open the console (ctrl+shift+j) and see what errors there are.

We just had our anniversary on the 23rd and he really hooked it up so i'm a happy girl. Plus i am really excited about work and he is so supportive it makes it all better. I do worry about him but if anything happens while i'm gone I can fly home in a few hours. Not a big difference from me driving to San Antonio and back everyday really.

My birthday is on St. Patrick's Day and there is NO way he would miss that. We take the week off and live.


I'm willing to bet your man will do something similar before he goes on drills. That month and a half though.

When you get a notification that your kid has been invited to a birthday party. For the classmate whose mom you hate. For no legitimate reason.

But like, some weird deep seething hatred, like every time I see her face I just want to punch it off. I don't know what it is, but she rubs me the wrong way.

And now I have to play nice

 

HA! When my eldest was in kindergarten, she went to school in this really chi chi town and it seemed like all the parents lived in these McMansions and would throw these elaborate kid parties, which of course, the whole class was invited. There was this one mom that I just wanted to slap after doing one of those discus spins that they do to get momentum. She was just so freakin' insufferable. I think if I ran into her today I'd still want to slap her - for absolutely no real personal reason at all. And then tell her how crappy she'd decorated her house. Ugh. Definitely the least awesome party house we went to that year.

 

This lady just seems so... uppity, and snobby, and FAKE. She's been at 2 of the 3 parties my little one has been to, and she's the room mother for the class. I'm already horrible with social situations, so having to try to hide my irrational hatred just makes it so much harder

 

LOL, no. I just bought 3 more monitors plus water cooling. I still make my $100+ a day here just can't juggle the forum in with it.
