Got an email about the Social Innovations Lab at 7 pm tonight. I did the one at 1:30 today. Can we do both? I didn't think I would receive an email since I did one today.

 

I hate this.

 

The police chief in my town just got fired for stealing, by the mayor and city council. But it's so corrupt they wouldn't even put it in the paper and tell the people what or how much he stole. He didn't even get charged and they covered it up. But if we stole a dollar, we'd be put in jail immediately.

That is OK.

 

The police in my town are not as bad as some places for sure, but they're definitely very crooked.

We got in an accident in July, we got T-boned while going through an intersection. Chris saw the car coming and tried really hard to swerve away, but the lady made absolutely no effort to stop (and had to be speeding to hit us as hard as she did), and when she made contact with us we were in the side of oncoming traffic trying to swerve away, and it spun us clear back over onto our side and into the guardrail.

There were SO MANY obvious signs that it was not our fault, but the lady is well known here so the cop took her word for it. Left us down a car, and with jacked up insurance because our insurance said there was no point in fighting since the police report put us at fault.

The most messed up part is she was driving a really shit car, and we are fairly sure she did it on purpose to get a new car or something. She made no effort to even stop, or swerve, and after she hit us she kept sending people over to look in our car and she basically had a meltdown after she found out Cissnei was in there, saying "Oh god oh god I didn't realize there was a kid in there. I didn't know"

One of my best friends is a cop. I had to be his reference for obtaining a firearm license. I almost laughed out loud when the interviewer asked me if I had ever seen him use anger to resolve a conflict. I mean, I have seen the man attack a Christmas tree.

One time there was some beer leftover in the keg from a party, and his cop buddies were having a party the next night. It felt super weird turning all of the lights off around my house and loading a keg into the backseat of a cruiser.

Growing up, I had ridiculous respect for cops and teachers. Now that half of my friends are cops and teachers, I feel like I have seen too much of the hamburger being made.
