    .....Like legit one of the reasons I'm not a vet (or a nurse) is that I for one know I couldn't handle the pet(patient) being sick and miserable, or heaven forbid, dying.

    HE'S CLEARLY NOT DYING YET THO! If he was ever sick to the point of being miserable and not able to cat, I would not put him through that. But, I will fight like hell to make sure he has every possible option to keep his lungs going strong. The most likely way of his dying is having a severe asthma attack, and so of course I have him on the roids and his little inhaler, and he does super well 95% of the time. I just wanted to see about anything else I could do to help (he also has a humidifier cause it's too dry here, he had a dehumidifier in GA for the opposite problem). His old vet put him on the kitty kat glucosamine that I add to his food when he was struggling to pee enough, and that worked out so well, dude peeds like a little fire hose now- I figured maybe there was something else I could be adding to his diet or whatever that I was unaware of.

    She flat out told me she didn't believe in prescribing inhalers and I was like, "Yeah cool, I need a diff vet then, cause I'm not letting my cat drop dead from asthma." She then insulted me that I'm just not realistic and how Bearnie will prolly die in the next year or two.

    Bearnie, who can outrun us all, even with shitty little lungs. That lady can fuck off.
