I have two different friends that work for different companies that has a drink cart on Friday. They can purchase up to two big kid drinks to enjoy at their desk on Friday afternoons lol. I'm not a huge drinker but damn I could go for that lol.

My boss buys me a glass of wine with lunch plenty? Matt gets offered a beer at lunch, or in the evening, with the owner of the aiport on a work day fairly often. A good bit of my friends would only get in trouble if they came back from lunch blitzed cause their is obvs a lot to be said for discretion. I realize there is a world of difference between different work environments but it's not that bizarre for a lot of white collar jobs. That being said, if I've commented on having a drink I'm probably not turking anymore anyway.

Clear rules would honestly be helpful here though cause it's either a strictly how you would act in front of your boss thread or a water cooler thread. I will comment to my work friend if I'm hungover, I would not in front of my boss. I will make raunchy jokes to my work friends but not to my boss, etc etc etc. Well, except Janet cause she's hella cool.

 

Everyone I know who works at a startup has beers in the break room, but that's because we're millennials and drunk all the time and don't have real jobs/aspirations/goals anyway.

On the other hand I had a friend who went for wings with lunch and got fired for a beer. She tried telling them the wings were only 99 cents with a beer but surprisingly that didn't work

 

These 3M earplugs are pretty boss. It's like my own personal cone of silence for naps.
