Earnhub about to overtake my mturk earnings today

 

I was waiting for my paycheck to clear this morning so I could buy those (the next barely used pair I found is 2.5x more and new is twice as much as that) and the ultralight hiking backpack I'm getting (on sale for 30% off, cause that print isn't as popular as the others lmao). I don't really need these particular boots for the summer because I won't be doing much boggy hiking and trail runners are more breathable during warmer seasons, but I was looking forward to having them in my closet for way, way cheaper and now I'm sad.

I'm obsessed with cutting weight now tho. Is that jacket 16 oz? HELL NAW! LESS THAN 10 OR BUST! Is your hiking pack 2.5 pounds empty? SUPER NO! How about your shoes? 2.5 pounds for a pair of size 6 hiking boots? SCREW THAT NOISE! UNDER A POUND OR BUST! GET YOUR HEAVY SHOES AWAY FROM ME!

I must be nimble, like a fox!

so, in other news, am totally obsessed with hiking to the point my 2 pound camelbak hiking pack annoys me. Who am I anymore?

Yeah. For real. Luckily, I’m a good little shopper and I’m ok with used stuff/being patient. You can find a lot of lightly used marmot jackets and stuff like that. I got matt a jacket that’s normally 150+ for 20 just by combing thrift stores and it still had a tag! It’s crazy how many people buy a $$$ marmot jacket or $$$ hiking boots and then just use them once and never again. Blows my mind! I’m prolly gonna get a jacket that’s more like 10z and not aim for something like 5 cause my current jacket is 12.8 (which isn’t awful) but I wanna get something fully waterproof and maybe a little warmer.

My trail shoes I got for 20 bucks and clearly hadn’t been worn for more than a hike at most. I wouldn’t go for something heavily used in that department, but they would have been like 120 new and even if I shaved a month of life off them...easily worth it. And Matt has a bunch of good backpacking/camping stuff he doesn’t use as much anymore, so I just steal his stuff for myself I even got never worn, tags on, hiking socks that I LOVE and cannot live without now...for half the price of amazon.

But yeah, I have a problem. Skating and hiking seem like sorta cheap hobbies at first but NOPE.
