Yeah, well, I CAN TIE MY SHOES SO WELL NOW and my Dad wouldn't let me go on camping trips (my sister was allowed lmao). SO, WHATEVER. HE JUST KEPT BUYING ME VELCRO AND I WAS CONFUSED ABOUT THE LACES!

Also couldn't ride a bike without training wheels for an embarassing amount of time ...or swim (I could float and doggy paddle cause the beach and all that) , half cause my parents forgot to teach me. My dad also "forgot" to ever take me to the dmv for my road test before I left for college, so I had to take myself the day before I left for Clemson. My sister got lessons for all of those things ...cause of course. Yes, running theme here.

I'm real spastic with anything remotely physical. It baffles me Matt will let me fly the plane or ride his dirtbike cause I literally broke a ramekin yesterday, cause putting it on the counter was too coordinated for me to accomplish.

My dad would tell me how I would just fail and was incompetent (also how being a woman meant I couldn't do things as well as him, a man)...but would also ground me for getting less than A or losing a tennis match. It was a requirement at my school to pass swimming in the 9th grade to graduate high school, so I basically HAD to learn. My sister was a lifeguard...so that was the real kicker lol. They put her in swim class during the summer and had her learn...and then just forgot about me.

Yay for quality upbringings! You turned out pretty kickass either way
