yeah, it's usually an issue with the carrier but that's why people pay amazon for a prime membership instead of per-purchase shipping costs. so that they have to deal with it and the customer gets to take advantage of amazon's fairly lax customer service rules. one time i bought a dog crate on amazon because we adopted a dog on the spur of the moment and took her home on a friday. the crate was guaranteed to be delivered on sunday, but it didn't show up. i had to run out to petco to buy a dog crate that was more expensive than the one i ordered since we needed to put the dog in a crate so we could go to work monday. i emailed all this to amazon customer service and they refunded me the cost of the crate but told me to keep it so i had two dog crates. sold one on craigslist
