I like playing Arcane Tricksters in 5th Edition D&D.. Does that count? They are basically Rogues + Mages... all in one awesome package.

Edit: I've played a rogue in pathfinder and I am currently playing a Sea Titan/ Mystic warrior in Rifts.

Don't know if you will get the reference since it's from a long time ago, but when I played Rifts, I talked my GM into letting me play a toned down Lizard Mage (from the Atlantis book) I got the dual mage class deal, but one was a D&D Wild Mage so my magic, though powerful was very unpredictable, the other mage class was a Technowizard. I was hands down the most powerful member of the party, but I kept that power under wraps until it was needed. Even though I had a super sturdy body and could shrug off all but the most destructive damage, I always wore a cheap suit of body armor that hid what my character looked like, used my spells to enhance my abilities, when they didn't freakishly go awry, and used what I had available to me to make myself super useful to the party, even though I was evil (but the evil with morals type).

Sure you might be able to survive getting hit by a 20 ton tank, but if I park it on you, well, you might have some issues, and have fun avoiding it when the entire thing is invisible and all but silent going 60mph.

Trying to sneak into a base, and having my spell go crazy and instead of turning my party member invisible, it having a 50 foot radius sphere centered on him instead all go invisible... yeah, nobody will notice that at all.

 

hah that sounds pretty dope... Funny thing about my Rifts character is he is now 3 game transfers deep.. He started as a nobody college study and was thrown into the Dead Reign universe --> Rifts and turned into a master psionic because I got the best roll you could get with the d100 with the world transfer... He became a sea titan that was a Mystic Warrior. (My DM physically owns every rifts book so we could use anything)... Now we are going to space or something like that.

In Rifts, Techno-Wizard was always my go to class. Play them like a mad scientist, and that immunity to energy ability they get at start... that can't be abused... at all. ever... since 95% of the guns you come across shoot lasers, plasma, or other energy based things. Railguns yeah, scary as hell, but energy? pshaw, t'aint nuttin.

One of Murphy's Rules of Combat "Don't be conspicuous, it draws fire" I always wear mid range body armor, carry mid range weaponry, and tried to be one of the most powerful in the party. That lizard mage was mixed in with a party of cyborgs, a rahu man, a dragon and a glitter boy... and there I was, just a cheap suit of power armor, a las rifle, and the most powerful member (even toned down by like 50-90%) of the party.

Okay, while I understand I'm on a board of rockstars, I have to share with SOMEONE who would understand -

My PE hit $25.71 today. Up until the beginning of this week, I'd earned $112 total over the course of almost a year because I hadn't looked into how to make the most of turking. I am SO EXCITED! Even with only a few hours a day to work, I can pay for gas with this kind of income. ARGHGHERERHH!
