I have a question: the guys from Transcribe This have rejected five of my transcriptions in a row, even though they were absolutely accurate (i checked them all several times before submitting them, like i always do). Some of the files were missing a few seconds (i guess) of audio at the beginning but i can't do anything about that. Should i contact them and protest or do i risk to be blocked? Transcriptions are my favourites...

 

If you like that kind of work from what I gather there are better places to make money from it than mturk. Even more so with the hassle that you have to do to get paid as a non US worker.

I think that it was @jessers that did a ton of that kind of work?

I've never had to contact them but from stories of old time past they've always rejected any HITs with even minor mistakes.. best to toss back stuff you think might have a fudge up in it.

They're like the intro 101 to transcription on MTurk lol.. All the medicore pay of Crowdsurf w/ the rejection/block possibility of everything else they turn weak turkers into strong, seasoned (grumpy) vets in no time flat

 

IDK about the $5, but the $1's earlier were the same questions. That paydrop

 

They should restart the closed qual but with me as the only worker and a giant pile of cash.

Sorry I honestly personally hate the work so I haven't actually looked into it. You will have to ask around and google but from what I have heard mturk is likely the bottom of the barrel for transcription work most of the time.
