I had a shar pei when I was a kid. He would try to catch birds. One day he finally caught one and then he became a bird hunter from that point on. He killed so many birds my mom was starting to freak out. We'd leave him inside during the day because it got so bad or there would be 2 or 3 in the yard when we'd get home. He never ate them though. We knew some very avid hunters of small game, and they were given access to private land that we worked on, so they would nicely give me lots of fresh meat for my four legged children. I had some bbq squirrel and honestly, wasn't too bad!

Skeeter demolishes squirrels and we once had to negotiate the surrender of a rabbit (sorry rabbit bro, Skeet couldn't help himself and he saw you first!). I think the only reason he hasn't caught a quail yet is cause he's usually on leash around there, as I don't trust any catahoula mix to remember to stop running before they get lost in the desert.
