Yeahhhhh We have a major hub within an hour or two that we dress up and head into once at month at least so we can still feel like real human beans. While I love the solitutde and knowing that I have my own land I still wish we had more options for food or things to do. I would never give it up though because fuck it I'll just drive to it. I just don't understand how people could LIVE in a city

Asking for insight. I can see C-sats, I do not have the blocked qual, but cannot accept them anymore (since August). They turn purple in PC. Anyone have experience with this?

I won't tell you why they said they rejected me, because I don't want to give people a chance to use it as an excuse to get the rejection overturned if their rejection was legitimate, but I will say, if you know you didn't miss attention checks and you are usually a fast worker for reasons, write the requester to ask for an explanation and a reversal.

Hello,

thank you for your message! I understand that you are upset and I am happy to elaborate and be transparent about it - that’s why we included this bit in the rejection note.

I am sure you have heard about the problems with bots and/or mostly people just randomly clicking through a survey to make money in a short amount of time. As researchers we depend on genuine answers and therefore had to find a way to disentangle sincere answers from generic ones. A procedure that we implemented now was a composite score that included several criteria:

• amount of time needed in total
• amount of time per page
• amount of time between first and last click
• number of clicks in total
• visible patterns in answering behavior (e.g. always choosing the same number, alternating left-right clicks or other patterns)
• contradictions with regard to contents

This was the first study where we systematically scanned all HITs and sorted out over 20 HITs to which these criteria applied. Before I tell you about the exact instances that made your work “suspicious” let me just say that 2 workers (you and one other person) out of the 22 we rejected got back to us and explained. Clearly, the two of you are not what we suspected and I apologize for the implicit accusation. You really helped us refine our scoring system and I hope that we will now be even more precise in our detection of workers using automated answering tools. However, the other 20 we detected never complained and might actually be bots/workers we would want to exclude for future HITs.

What made us suspicious about your HIT was [redacted]. While [redacted] is often a sign for automated answering the other worker told us that for him it was because [redacted]. - we suppose this might be what happened in your case, too.

In summary, we will reverse the rejection and hope for your understanding why we had to proceed the way we did.
