12/03 - Magic Monday!

I haven't even looked at prolific today. I've had it open, but I've been staying busy on mturk. It sounds like maybe I should have at least been glancing at it today.

 

I've been locked out of Prolific since I got my new computer at work in August so I'm really stoked that I got my account working again. After being able to catch surveys at my mother-in-law's house, my wife's drill location, and the hotel I stayed at this weekend, I got fed up and sent a pretty aggravated email to them. Account working again as of this morning.

If you can do fine on MTurk you should avoid prolific at all costs. Boo them, booooo.

Every time someone mentions Prolific I'm like "well maybe I should check it out" then I remember I have to log in and remember my password and all that other stuff I don't feel like doing.

 

I feel like if Prolific's CEO truly believes $6.50/hr is "ethical" she should pay herself that.

Spoiler alert: that's not gonna happen.

Prolific is the main competition to mturk as an academic survey platform and never miss a chance to shittalk mturk while their own platform is riddled with even worse faults.

 

I had an extension that told me when stuff was up got rid of it for some reason and now I never remember to check

 

AH. I see people posting about it, but the numbers I was seeing didn't seem worth establishing myself on that platform. I wouldn't want to have to start at the bottom of something that doesn't pay any better than mturk, or sounds like it pays worse.

 

She could put a spin on it and say her current hourly wage is $6.50/hr + a "finder's fee"
