I think that every time a hits get accepted, the mturk server pings the payments serer to check for account status. somehow in my mind the 503...

Not a clue, to me that reads like, the AWS is not AWSing the server is not servicing, the page is not paging, and the request is not requesting....

one of the two requesters mentioned has this Location is not one of: CN, US not sure what countries that is since it tells me that I am not qualified

I was using a really old version of PC, and recently a bunch of my scripts stopped working, had to get rid of most, replace the ones i still used...
what browser, and if you can share a requester name to see if we can replicate? can you accept any hit or is it just from that specific requester?
The issue will probably be resolved before that one sees the light, :(
