@Rocknrolla I have my AWS Solutions Architect - Associate and I'm working on the AWS SysOps associate over the coming months.

In terms of difficulty, it's kind of hard for me to say.. It depends on your experience with the platform. I'm almost at year 5 of working with AWS, so I didn't find a lot of the things I needed to know for the test to be challenging because I'd been implementing them for over 3 years.

The difficulty really depends on your background and what pre-requisite knowledge you have and if it translates over. My educational background focused on networking and virtualization so a lot of the concepts I already was familiar with and able to easily translate them over into AWS' services.

I don't have any of the traditional Microsoft or VMWare certs - never had a need, and I hate Windows Server, so it's pretty far down my list

My guess is that someone with some virtualization experience could take the course in about a month and be ready for the exam, but it just really depends on the type of student and their work ethic and determination to get the cert. I'd been looking into it and toying with the idea for 2 years before my company said hey, do this and we'll make it worth your time. I had it within a month lol.
