Am I missing sarcasm? What is MA Forum?
And did I say I was intoxicated?
If I am actually breaking some sort of rule, please let me know because I thought this was a pretty casual forum but I'm new so I'm definitely unaware of a lot of the etiquette. And, I never said I was intoxicated. I don't consider drinking 3 beers from 8pm to 1am intoxicated in any way, shape, or form and definitely does not affect my ability to work on HITs or skew any data. But
Welcome me to TV
I wasn't done writing my reply to your post.
It's more of a tact thing.
This is a 'work' forum (lol) and anything that tells the world "I do work", as it could be quoted in the next Wired article anyway, is going to get looked down on.
It's really the case of nobody really giving a , UNLESS a post allows people to question the quality of the work we submit to the platform.
that's @Girl Polar Bear
this is her forum and everything is her's, designated by "MA"
that's just part of her humor haha
But who governs that it's work? I'm not trying to start an argument, I'm just really curious. I should probably wait an hour after I have a glass of wine with dinner to do any work? "Sober state of mind" is subjective though. If I down a couple shots and pound a few beers, sure....but I didn't do that and that's not what I was even talking about nor was I or am I "intoxicated"....I used to work in a major Amazon building and they drank every Friday while working, most people had beer fridges in their offices. So again, it's subjective of the quality of work.
My original comment was basically supposed to be "I used to do this for fun, now I make enough that I can have fun and support myself and my hobbies". Not to create drama. Please don't ban me or anything. I thought I was making the comment in good fun. Humor doesn't read very well through text, I suppose.
No one's submitting good work if they're turking drunk. Don't drink and turk, kids. Or at the very least, don't talk about it.
NO ONE IS DRUNK! I don't understand why I have to keep explaining that other than the fact that it's taboo here to talk about having a drink.
obviously you're not haha
there's just a distinct impression that connecting the ideas of working/drinking in the same sentence cause and it's the one @morweeg just described.
and it's going to cause people to bring it up and not appreciate the fact that people are claiming they are drinking while working. even if they aren't drunk and even if it's not impairing them at all.
I appreciate that and that's why I asked if I was breaking any rules by talking about it. It really was supposed to be in a good fun because, a year ago, I never thought I'd be able to pay for a trip to Disneyland just by doing this work, let alone buy myself a couple beers to relax. I didn't think I'd start Worker War III. Discussion over. I promise it won't happen again, Your Honor.
