It's bigger, faster and takes better pictures. With Apple's stuff the OS matters more than the model honestly. The hardware is significantly better in the 7 versus the 5, but if you're on latest iOS you shouldn't notice that much of a difference from the UI/UX standpoint.

The 7 plus does have some different features - mostly with the camera, but it's forking huge so I refuse to get one.

 

It is 2 more than 5.

I had the 7 plus, but now I have the 8 plus. I really enjoy the plus size ones cause I like the bigger screen, I watch a lot of video on my phone. I like the wireless charging on it also and the waterproof - my phone fell into the toilet the other day at a rest stop and I was able to retrieve it and wash it with soap and water right there in the sink and I was good to go

I've never had a 5 so I can't compare, but I really liked the 7 and I like my 8 just as well.
