Wikipedia mentions "the notorious 'Cedric Brooklyn Bridge problem': in theory, 'A' could say to 'B': 'I'll give you $100 if you walk across the Brooklyn Bridge' – and then, just before 'B' finishes crossing, pull up to him in a car and say 'The deal is off,' at which point no contract would be formed and 'A' would not be liable to 'B' for anything."

That's basically what one survey provider repeatedly did to me (I mean, with a $3 survey session instead of a $100 bridge walk). After completing nearly the entirety of a lengthy survey, it'd throw a server error saying the survey was closed, and all my input was discarded. (Not even stealing data, this was just a recurring bug that killed an almost-finished submission and discarded all the input.) – After repeated complaints, I've finally quit that platform because they're not fixing this.

It's pointless to waste time with problematic platforms. (That one wasn't the worst. The worst survey sites are just insanely bad, and I'm ashamed to confess that I've spent time on some of those too.)

After years of being an idiot, I'm finally learning to resist masochistic temptation and STOP revisiting inferior platforms. They are NOT worth ONE MORE SECOND of our time, EVER!

Stay away from stupid sites!

Maybe it's just me but every time I come across elke cabooter I have to say it out loud and giggle. I think that's my fave requester name so far. dirty1234 comes in a close 2nd.
