Hi everyone! It's March Madness time!

We know a lot of folks are probably going to be filling out a bracket, so we want to see if we can get you all to fill one out with us, too.

We're going to have you fill out your bracket entirely this year using Survey Monkey. It's a wee bit awkward at first until you get used to it, but it does what it's supposed to do.

We'll also be paying bonuses in addition to paying you to just fill out a bracket. $100 for first, $50 for second, and $10 each to the next five below that.

I also wanted to mention that we really do mean it when we talk about research paying off. Everyone who at least does a few minutes to check around on some sources to try to do well on their predictions typically ends up scoring way better than those who don't. In fact, our final Oscars group that got invited to do an extra swarm with us were selected on the basis of their research reporting as a primary factor. We used them as our final answer for our Oscars predictions. And then they went out and picked 15 of 16 winners correctly.

We're going to publish a bracket/tournament HIT within the next 90 minutes. We'll publish a lot of them, but if you want in, it's still probably best to grab one quickly.

The HIT will pay $1.50, and it'll take you at least 10 minutes or so to fill out the bracket, longer if, as we ask, you try to do a little research first.

Finally: the HIT instructions will *specifically* tell you to enter your Worker ID into the line on the bracket survey for an "Email Address." Do that. Don't give us your email address, and especially don't report us for a TOS violation on Mechanical Turk. It's a great way for us to tell who reads hit instructions and who doesn't.

Pros:
Different than the usual, painless at the end of the day. Contacted requester about the short timer, and he was great and very friendly.
Cons:
Four things
- Short timer
- Repetitive
- Progress bar moves pretty slow because there are a lot of them
- You'll spend less time (unlike me) if you realize early on you need to just make a decision and move on. Just go through them, don't think long and hard
