Watching La Traviata on Pbs as a kid was how my dad got pulled into my elementary school cause apparently my murderous love triangle plagued by consumption story was too dark or whatever. Also, Moulin Rouge (and to a lesser extent, Pretty Woman) both use the plot to that opera!
