Did the blocks from Brian happen yesterday when he was futzing around with quals and bonuses and junk yesterday? I think it's fair to say we learned that he doesn't understand the platform that well.

Ok.

A block is a block except that its not. A "hard" block was referred to when you would get an email about being blocked while a "soft" block was a block with no email. No one knows what exactly generated an email and it was tested pretty thoroughly. Blocks can be used to prevent retakes, or blocks can be used to stop bad workers or scammers.

I believe that when a suspension comes up, it has to be done manually or something. There would be a bunch more false positives if it were automated due to the amount of requesters who used to block to prevent retakes (this appears to have gotten magnitudes better in the last 2 years now).

So really, it boils down to, if you aren't scamming (and you will know if you are), then you won't get suspended (get out of here snowflake who breaks the norm).

tldr;
block from survey = who gives a shit
block from batch = you better figure out why cause no bueno

 

Pay is decent enough (for me) that it's worth running the risk of a block to do them.
