I wish the damn Captcha wouldn't cause a submission to fail. — The HIT is still pending but soon to expire, so I can reopen it and see my prior entries are still there — but now I can't submit, because the task detects a duplication.

    ^ Solution to that:

To avoid the captcha, I must remember to turn off my high-speed scraper (or at least slow it down) while I'm working on a HIT.

(It's a custom scraper, doesn't have a lot of fancy smarts in it, it's very basic.)

Anyways, if any of you get the PickFu that I had to return, the one with the bottles, you'll know which choice is the right one, A or B. The choice is clear. I trust y'all to get it right.

I almost miss the Address Transcription requester. Although I wasn't there when the pay was good. I came in after he reduced the pay. But I enjoyed doing them anyways.

I even tried to do some of the Canadian French ones, without really knowing the language. I shouldn't have done those, but I was careful, trying to learn just enough to get it right before the timer expired, and I only submitted if 90% sure it was right. No rejections.

Once upon a time, human transcription was a viable career. Before "AI" LLMs, there was crowd-sourced transcription that paid terribly (like 20-30 cents per audio-minute, and most of the audio quality was abysmal). But before that, in the "old days," general transcription started around $1+ per audio-minute, and of course specialized transcription (medical, legal etc.) could pay significantly more. A friend of mine had a medical transcription job in the 1960s-70s and it paid pretty well. — I guess some specialized transcription jobs still exist but how viable are those careers nowadays, and how quickly is AI eating into those remaining niches?

Since when did Prolific begin to support Two-Factor Authentication? — Good. I was looking for that before and must've missed it.

    — From Fallout 4 (2015), but the line is originally from a 1983 episode of The A-Team.
