Getting paid a high bonus combined with a low hit payment has triggered mturk account suspensions in the past. A lot of us had this happen about 13-ish months ago. was a big hassle and took a long time to get our mturk accounts back. so if someone has time to email this requester not to arrange payment like that, that would be good.

 

Wow, I didn't know that. I had signed up for two time slots and just got the email about it. I'm scared to participate now.

on the forum, search for posts by @Fearless Turtle from around feb 1, 2024 through around sept 1, 2024. people from TO had to get involved, people from the media and other people outside of mturk. mturk didn't tell us why we were banned. everyone gradually figured out by working together that we had all done a hit with low pay and a huge bonus compared to the pay. some of us even got together and did a zoom meeting with people from TO! the hit was from a US military contractor, and they used their military credentials in their emails and stuff with us. I don't know how it could have been more obvious that the requester wasn't a scammer. I think it was an algorithm that banned so many people.

oh and we didn't get banned immediately. some people weren't banned by mturk until months after they did that hit. so I just think this requester should structure their payment differently. it should be high pay for the hit and a low bonus, not the opposite.

 

P.S. has anyone heard from @ChristopherASA lately? I was looking up the military hit from last year. I realized he hasn't posted since 2022.
